In the East Texas oil field town of Kilgore, there is a unique cafe that is only open for lunch and dinner Monday through Friday. Don't plan to visit Big T's on the weekend, because they're not open.

If you find yourself in Longview, Texas and want to go somewhere for a good meal, then The Butcher Shop is where you want to go. They offer steaks, sandwiches, hot dogs, chicken fried steaks, salad bar, baked patato bar, all kinds of deserts, and breakfast. They will allow you to pick your steak from the meat counter and cook it the way you like it. If you like a little beer with your meal, buy it by the bottle or by the bucket. Now the chicken fried steak falls second to Big T's in Kilgore, but it is still some good eating.

Located in the Brookwood Village Shopping Center (McCann Road and Fairmont), El Sombrero Mexican Restaurante opened its doors September 2000. Having survived the first 6 months with outstanding success, using word of mouth as their form of advertising, their lunch runs are now standing room only with evening dinners commanding a crowd as well.
