story about how they lived and the communities that
grew out of the discovery of oil in East Texas.

East Texas Oil Museum |
This is the premier museum in East Texas. Chronicling the discovery
of oil in the 1920's and how money was made and lost. This field
is 35 miles long and 15 miles wide. It is famous for having the
"WORLD'S RICHEST ACRE". If was believed there was oil under the
Kilgore bank, so the bank was torn down and oil wells drilled.
This field was a major supplier of oil to American Armed forces
during World War II.

Railroad Historical Museum of Springfield, MO |
Located in Grant Beach Park, Springfield, MO, this museum is the caretaker of the Firsco 4524 Locomotive. The museum is housed in a Burlington Northern Caboose, Chicago & Northwestern Commuter Car, and a Burlington Baggage Car. With historical information about the Frisco and other railroad history and memorabilia, this museum allows hands on and a tour of the 4524 cab. Check out this museum the next time you’re in the Springfield area and there’s plenty of picnic space. |

Located in Springfield, Missouri, the Frisco Railroad museum
display the history and times of the famous St. Louis &
San Francisco Railraod. Later nicknamed the Frisco, the
railroad never did make it to San Francisco, but did have a
impact on the Northeast Texas region.
